Graph presets

My Presets saves your own graphs, next to Templates in the Scene Setup panel and the node editor header.

Save Graph As Preset writes the whole graph to a .json file:

  • every node with its name, position, size, colour, mute and hide state, and frame
  • every setting on each node
  • every link, in order on sockets that accept several
  • the Blaze Look colour ramp
  • the script of a Wrangle that uses a Text datablock

You give it a name and an optional description. The default folder is the presets library. Files saved there appear in the My Presets menu. Save somewhere else to share a file.

Choose a saved name in the menu, or Load Preset From File.

Option Effect
Replace Graph (on) Clears the current graph first, and clears the simulation cache, which no longer matches.
Replace Graph (off) Adds the preset’s nodes beside the existing ones.

A report lists what was loaded and any warnings.

Objects are stored by name, not by content. A domain box or an emitter shape is found again by name, and the load report lists any the file lacks. A preset from a newer version of BLUX is refused with a message. Node types or settings that an older BLUX does not have are skipped with a warning.

Open Presets Folder opens the library in your file browser.

Mark Graph as Blender Asset turns the graph into a Blender asset, tagged with the solver. Open the Asset Browser (Current File) to drag it into another scene. Unlike a JSON preset, this stays inside the .blend file.
