Combustion, dissipation and detail
Three satellite nodes wire into the Blaze Solver. They are created by default. An unwired socket uses the defaults.
Combustion
Section titled “Combustion”Sets how fuel ignites and burns.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Ignition (K) | 543.15 | Fuel burns where the gas is hotter than this. The burn rate fades in over the next 150 K. |
| Burn Rate (1/s) | 2.5 | Fraction of the fuel consumed per second once lit. |
| Flame Heat (K) | 3000 | Temperature rise of the gas per unit of fuel burned. |
| Smoke Yield | 2.4 | Smoke released per unit of fuel burned. |
| Flame Cooling (1/s) | 3 | Decay rate of the visible flame. Higher gives shorter flames. |
| Expansion | 1.86 | Gas volume growth per unit of fuel burned. Hotter gas expands less. Pushes a fireball outward. |
Blaze Dissipation
Section titled “Blaze Dissipation”Controls how smoke fades, gas cools and heat is lost.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Smoke Dissipation | 0.15 | Smoke density decay rate, 1/s. |
| Temperature Cooling | 0.6 | Convective cooling rate of the heat, 1/s. |
| Radiative Cooling (T⁴) | 0 | Stefan-Boltzmann cooling to ambient. It forms dense dark crusts. |
| Heat Conduction | 0 | Heat conduction through the gas. 0 skips the pass. |
| Fuel Evaporation | 0.05 | Decay rate of unburned fuel vapour. |
| Velocity Damping | 0.02 | Air resistance. A Drag force adds to it. |
Blaze Turbulence
Section titled “Blaze Turbulence”Adds fine swirling detail.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Confinement | 21 | Vorticity confinement. It restores curls that numerical diffusion smoothed away. 2 to 25 is a good range. 50 and above can stall a plume. |
| Confinement Mask (K) | 0 | 0 applies confinement everywhere. Above 0 it fades in with heat, so clear air stays smooth. |
| Shred Strength | 0 | Curl-noise acceleration that tears the plume into wisps. |
| Shred Size, Shred Speed, Shred Octaves | 0.5 m, 0.75 m/s, 1 | Size of the noise eddies, how fast the pattern drifts, and the number of octaves. |
| Disturbance | 0 | Random block-wise pushes where the gas is hot and visible. Breaks up smooth sheets. |
| Flame Shredding | 0 | Stretches flame fronts into licks. |
- For explosions, a finer Voxel Size or Bake + Upres adds detail.
- If the plume looks too smooth, raise Confinement or add Shred Strength.
- If it stalls, lower Confinement.
All settings are in the Details reference.
