Dependencies
The Dependencies box in the preferences shows optional components and the kernel cache.
Impact (rigid bodies and fracture) uses SciPy in two places, so it must be available in two places:
| Where | Used for | How to install |
|---|---|---|
| Blender side (BLUX’s user site-packages) | authoring fracture and connecting the pieces | the Install SciPy button in the Dependencies box |
| Solver Python | the Impact solver, when it builds convex hulls and finds neighbouring chunks | python -m pip install scipy in the solver’s Python (see Installation) |
The box shows SciPy: installed with its version, or not installed, for the Blender side. Install SciPy asks you to confirm, then runs pip in the background, and the result shows in the preferences.
Production surface mesher
Section titled “Production surface mesher”The Production liquid mesher uses the pysplashsurf package in the solver’s Python. The Cache box reports its status and offers Install when it is missing. The button asks you to confirm and then runs pip in the solver’s Python in the background. You can also install it yourself:
python -m pip install pysplashsurf==0.14.1.0Without it, BLUX uses the Geometry Nodes liquid mesher, which needs no extra install. See Rendering and Looks.
Kernel cache
Section titled “Kernel cache”Shows the kernel cache folder and its size, with the Clear GPU Kernel Cache button. See Kernel cache and warm-up.
